When i say "sandbagging" i'm not saying he's deliberately going slower than he can, what i am saying is that his shoulder is only an issue when it's convenient as an excuse, or, for you MM fan boys, a "reason" for his poor performance. I wonder how long MM will ride the sympathy train while looking for a sucker to tow him around and how long his ego will win the battle over his dignity
Even Simon Crafar who is an ex GP rider and very well respected as someone who really knows his shit (he was an ohlins technician for a few years after he stopped riding) says MM will never be as dominant as he was, the series has moved on and is MUCH more competitive. He's lost his edge, isn't as fast as he was and his ego won't admit it. Given how long since his arm fracture and the fact he had multiple shoulder dislocations before his arm, and corrective surgery in the off season for that and was still dominant. He is sandbagging, no question in my mind, why? dunno, is he still injured? maybe, up to a point, but not as bad as he and the commentators make out, if he is as bad as he claims he should be off having it corrected surgically, if there's no correction then he's screwed, because he says he's not enjoying it anymore.
Strangely, and this bit i do know all about, when he has a fall he can pick up the bike no problem, Now adrenaline may play a part, sure, but he's a professional racer that has crashed 20 times this year so far, adrenaline wouldn't factor that much, he's used to racing, the speed, even falling off, but everyone, and i don't care who you are, when you're injured and fall off it hurts, even if you don't whack it, your body tenses up and the impact transfers through you and if his shoulder is truly as bad as he makes it appear (sometimes.) then there's no way he would be able to pick up the bike without very obvious discomfort, if at all. There are right hand corners on anti clockwise tracks as well?Īnd why do we see all the flexing, stretching, reaching for it exiting the pits etc only at tracks where he isn't a shoe in to dominate?
Right, I’m off for a lie down in a dark room, do my breathing exercises and wring out a wet flannel….On anti clockwise tracks he's fast, had a 2nd, and a win, doesn't "appear" to have a care in the world.Ĭlockwise tracks his shoulder is still not right and he struggles to support the bike in right handers, ok, but. I used to enjoy the banter, all round knowledge and expertise of Jules (sadly missed) and Hodgson has his moments (Marquez’s new girlfriend for example), but overall they really do need to sort their act out. Why? What possible reason is there for doing it? Equally why do they constantly do the ‘ICYMI’ bit? If I am interested enough to watch the racing, perhaps I didn’t miss it, or perhaps I haven’t watched it yet? Does BT not realise that it’s possible to record their progs and then watch them out of sequence? They even run replays of the race on BT3 and then have the race result come up on screen during the same actual race!
My biggest gripe however is why they mention in commentary what happened in the previous race. ‘The Argentinian round in two week’s time’ when the graphic onscreen is showing 21 days till Argentina…. Suzi Perry is also well past her sell by date (was she ever any good?) giving out duff info, getting names wrong and for a lot of the time appearing pretty disinterested in what’s going on. So we had to listen to Huewen repeating it time after time during the race, like there was nothing else to mention. I am fed up with Huewen’s commentary, he takes an age to notice things that happen on track and how many times does he reference gambling in the course of a race? Yesterday someone mentioned something a team manager had said about Schrotter. I’m seriously considering going with the MotoGP feed (which is cheaper if you buy it in euros btw).
